COMMENTS: Ribbon fan palm most closely resembles Australian fan palm but does not grow as tall as the latter and bears larger leaves. It is most notable for its deeply divided leaves, the long segments of which hang downward like a curtain for several feet. This effect is best exhibited in a sheltered position; in the open the leaves tend to become tattered by the wind.
