COMMENTS: This beautiful but less hardy Livistona makes a lovely container specimen when young, the leaves forming almost perfect circles. Juvenile leaves are also only shallowly divided. Unlike many of the hardier species, the segments of the bright green, glossy leaves do not droop regularly. The trunk, whether covered with a mat of fiber and protruding leaf bases or clean and revealing the red ring scars, is also striking in appearance. Similar species: L. robinsoniana (Philippines), is similar in aspect but taller growing.
